Farmica was born out of a genuine love for animals — not as a grand project, but as a quiet act of resistance against injustice.
Four years ago, we started as a grassroots initiative, with no infrastructure, no funding, but with hearts full of compassion.
We filled our own homes with abandoned dogs and cats. We personally paid for temporary shelter and built improvised kennels on a small piece of land kindly offered to us by a local woman. There was no electricity, no running water — but there was a clear mission: to help those who cannot help themselves.
When we were forced to leave that land, we stood before a choice — give up, or move forward with courage.
We chose to fight.
In the village of Brezik Našički, we found a piece of land measuring 35,000 square meters. We launched a public appeal on Facebook — and incredibly, within just three months, we raised enough funds to purchase it. That land became Farmica’s new home.
There was no electricity, no paved roads — but there was faith and passion. We started from nothing.
Today, on that very land, we care for dozens of rescued dogs, cats, and farm animals — the ones the system forgets, and people too often abandon.
With us, every life matters — from Miško the donkey from Velika Gorica, to Ruža the pig from Koprivnica, all the way to Šarava the cow who arrived from Petrinja with her newborn calf, Borna. Then there are Luna, Lajka, and Bela — three little piglets rescued from a barn, pony Roky who was bought from a Roma family, Hopy the goat from Varaždin, goats from Čakovec, and many more.
Every animal that comes to us — comes to stay forever, or until they find a loving home.
There is no rejection. No “lost causes.”

Everything we do is funded solely through donations from kind-hearted people.
Without institutional support — but with your help — we:

We are currently raising funds to build a barn for Šarava and her little friends — covering an area of 12,000 square meters.
They deserve a safe and dignified sanctuary.
